Mod mail this page only mails the default index page link - why?

Mod mail this page gets the link using the standard Joomla methods.

For some reason this occasionally goes wrong. Unfortunately we cannot replicate the problem on our own sites: it seems to be some sort of Joomla bug, but a very subtle one, hence hard to debug.

To bypass this we have added an option to the module 'Use Extended URL' detection. If you are having problems with the correct URL being sent then you should activate this option, it should always work, though the resulting URLS will not be pretty SEF URLS.
