I am sorry that you are having these problems, but if you have disabled the plugin and your users cannot log in then clearly it is nothing to do with the plugin. It does not make any change to your website, so cannot possibly have an effect such as you describe. This is something else that has gone wrong with your site.
I suggest that you check your site configuration, make sure that you have the Joomla authentication plugin enabled, see if resetting their passwords have an effect. If none of those solve the problem you need to request support in the main Joomla forums.
